Georgetown Ice Races - Sat Feb 20th

Postby JC Rover » Sat Jan 23, 2010 12:46 pm

Ice Racing-Georgetown Lake
When:
Sat, Feb 20, 2010 8:00 AM - Sat, Feb 20, 2010 3:00 PM

Where:
Georgetown, CO

Limited to 20 vehicles. Please r.s.v.p. to wendy.vaughan@solihullsociety.org Drivers will need to be at the lake between 8am and 9am, so we can "register" them and take their entrance fees. They'll start setting up tracks around that time, so it will open shortly after. Requirements that everyone in our group will have to meet:

1. Everyone must be in a 4 Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive

2. Everyone must have a valid Driver's License

3. Bare Rubber tires only.

4. Everyone must have and must wear a seatbelt the entire time.

5. It will be $20 per driver and everyone must sign our waiver.

6. Idle speed off the track and absolutely no messing around. Other races will be going on and we have to look out for everyone's safety.

7. We won't require tech inspections, but vehicles need to be in good working order and have no fluid leaks.

8. We are limited to 20 vehicles to keep the chaos factor down. You will be able to have multiple drivers in one vehicle though.

Some of the shop crew will be there. We'll have at least 1 truck there.

Ha!

I raced my Heeps out there for several years. Do they still include the dash plaques with the entrance fees?

I heard about this on another site as well. Sounds like a lot of fun. Is there a group going just to watch? I might head up there just for that.

"no fluid leaks" - that's funny for a rover.

Land Rover North America warranty administration defines a "leak" as more than one drip per minute. Anything less than that is just normal seepage, so most of us are fine :)

...... Just kiddin.

Sound like fun. But if I go it will be just to watch. Anyone one else up for that besides two of us?

Is there going to be a meeting point for the drive up there or is everyone just going to meet at the lake?

I believe people are just meeting up there. Registration is from 8am-9am, races should begin shortly after that.

Enjoy

Thanks for the update Chris! The pictures/video posted on FB were awesome! I will check into sharing with Flatirons if you all agree! I guess Kirby would be the contact there?
